Notary Requirements
What to bring when transferring a vehicle:
Some insurance and other important notes
Proof of identification MUST be presented at time of service; acceptable photo identification must be current & issued by a Federal, State, or Local Government Agency.
Seller:*Current driver’s license, PA Title (if your title is with a lien-holder, you must obtain the paper title before we can perform the transfer) and current odometer reading.
Buyer:* Current PA driver’s license showing current address or with signed yellow update card. If you own a valid plate to transfer on to the vehicle being purchased, please bring the registration card that is associated with that plate, otherwise, we can issue a new plate. Written proof of insurance in the buyer’s name (does NOT have to be on the specific vehicle being purchased). Insurance must be valid on the date of purchase, so be sure to check your effective & expiration date on your card before coming. Your name must appear on the insurance card, if not please bring the declaration page showing you are a listed driver on that policy.
NOTE: If you do not have a paper copy of your insurance, or it is on your phone, it will need to be emailed to us prior to the transfer. We must provide a written copy of your proof of insurance to PennDOT. Bring it with you, email it to us or ask your agent to email it us at: 2224heightsnotary@gmail.com in advance, or bring it on your mobile device and we can print a copy while you are here. All parties must be present.
WHAT TO BRING ETC.
When transferring or registering a vehicle, please let the notary know IF you have a lien on the vehicle. This is very important as the lien needs to be recorded.
If you are selling a vehicle that is leaving the state of PA or the local area, and are giving the buyer the Pennsylvania title YOU must SIGN the back of the title in front of the notary. You also must have the buyer's name/address and sale price at that time. It must be assigned and a bill of sale is always a good idea. If you sign a title in PA without doing so in front of a notary it becomes defaced and a new title must be issued.
Also, anything needing notarization MUST be SIGNED in front of the notary, not at home before you get here.

We handle most PA Motor and Driver's License forms. We title vehicles purchased from out of state and issue license plates for cars, trucks, trailers, motor homes, motorcycles, snowmobiles and ATV's. We also do boat registrations. We issue TEMPORARY (60 Day) IN-Transit Plates. We also offer General and Mobile Notary Services, we come to you for general notary work if you can't come to us. General Notary work includes (but NOT limited to): Wills, Power Of Attorney, Oaths/Affirmations, Affidavits, Verification, Acknowledgment, Certificates, Depositions, and Mortgage Paperwork (witness closings with your prepared paperwork).
